Restaurant Review: Mexico LindoTacos & Grill

Location: Sherwood Park

Price Range: $$

Last week we took advantage of a Groupon deal we had purchased some time ago and hit up Mexico Lindo Tacos & Grill in Sherwood Park. This is a casual little Mexican eatery on Broadmoor Blvd playing lively Mexican music and serving up good quality food.

Since it was our first time we wanted to try a number of dishes and that is exactly what we did (maybe a few too many as we had leftovers for days).  The portions are a decent size for the price and the food comes out quickly.

We started dinner with the guacamole which is fresh avocado, tomatoes, chopped onions, cilantro, serrano pepper, fresh squeeze of lime juice, olive oil all served with fresh homemade corn chips. It is served in a deceivingly tall wooden container (it’s really filled about ⅓ of the container).

Next up was the Flautas de papa, which is three corn tortillas filled with potato then fried and topped with lettuce, queso fresco and sour cream. These are deliciously satisfying, but fill you up very quickly.

Every time we go for Mexican I always order Queso Fundido because it sounds so good on the menu and then can only eat one or two bites max. Queso Fundido is loads of melted queso Oaxaca with homemade Mexican chorizo and mushrooms served on a hot skillet with flour tortillas. With this dish we received four tortillas - I still can't figure out how one would eat all that cheese with only three tortillas!

Enchiladas are my favourite dish and this one was pretty good. We tried the Enchiladas Verdes, which came with four corn tortillas individually stuffed with shredded chicken, covered in tomatillo sauce, queso fresco, crema, and onion.

Finally, at every Mexican restaurant we go to we try the Tacos Al Pastor - its the standard in which we measure the restaurant by.  Tacos Al Pastor is three warm tortillas filled with crisp-thin shavings of vertical spit-roasted pork, topped with diced onion, fresh cilantro and pineapple. This dish was good, but definitely not the best we have ever had.

Overall we had a great experience and recommend checking it out if you are in the area.
