Restaurant Review: Mexico LindoTacos & Grill
Last week we took advantage of a Groupon deal we had purchased some time ago and hit up Mexico Lindo Tacos & Grill in Sherwood Park. This is a casual little Mexican eatery on Broadmoor Blvd playing lively Mexican music and serving up good quality food.
Since it was our first time we wanted to try a number of dishes and that is exactly what we did (maybe a few too many as we had leftovers for days). The portions are a decent size for the price and the food comes out quickly.
We started dinner with the guacamole which is fresh avocado, tomatoes, chopped onions, cilantro, serrano pepper, fresh squeeze of lime juice, olive oil all served with fresh homemade corn chips. It is served in a deceivingly tall wooden container (it’s really filled about ⅓ of the container).
How I became a Flower Farmer
In 2017, we started planning our wedding. We chose September as the month to have our wedding for a couple of reasons - one, it’s cooler and we have been to a few outdoor weddings in July and knew we didn’t want to stand in that kind of heat. Second- I love dahlias and they are a fall flower so we needed a fall date. After years of working as a florist I knew that the only way to get lots of high quality dahlias was to grow them myself. Typically, for an Edmonton florist the primary way to get dahlias is to order them from a farm or wholesaler in British Columbia. The flowers are shipped to us here in Edmonton by refrigerated truck, dry packed (meaning they are out of water). There are two things dahlia hate - being out of water and being cold, so when they arrive they are not happy and drop a lot of petals.
Rarotonga
Gary and I have decided to spend some time in Rarotonga this winter. Now, I am sure many of you are thinking - Rarotonga? Where in the heck is that (or at least that is what I was thinking when I first heard about it). Rarotonga is one of 15 islands that make up the Cook Islands which are located in the South Pacific Ocean. I think we have read every blog, pinterest post, website and instagram post to try and learn as much as we can about Rarotonga and what we might do. Without ever being there before, here is our top 5 wish list of things to do.
